Dysport

Dysport

We are proud to offer Dysport to our patients looking to address the visible signs of aging including lines and wrinkles on the face.

What Is Dysport?

Dysport is a botulinum toxin injectable that relaxes the muscles in the face which causes wrinkles to form.

How Does Dysport Compare to Botox?

While Dysport and Botox have the same active ingredient, they do have their differences.

The biggest difference between these two popular products lies in the protein difference which can affect efficacy for some patients.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Dysport?

The best candidate to be injected with Dysport is anyone with moderate to severe wrinkles between the brows.

Dysport is not indicated for patients with mild lines or for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How Long is an Injection Session?

You can expect your treatment session to be quick and completed in mere minutes.

The Results

Your results should begin to appear within a few days.

How Many Units Will Be Injected?

While every patient is different, most patients require around 50 units of Dysport in the glabellar region of the face.

Injections will be divided into five targeted areas for optimal results.

Is Dysport Permanent?

Dysport is not a permanent treatment for wrinkles.

You can expect your results to last between three and four months after which time you will need to return for follow-up injections to maintain your desired results.

What Are the Side Effects?

The FDA has approved Dysport as a safe and effective treatment.

Common side effects are mild and should resolve within a few days.

These side effects include minor pain, swelling, and irritation at the injection site as well as headaches.
